This was a classic when my children were young- Now my grandchildren can enjoy it

We enjoy the quality time & it takes the place of the usual request to watch videos. My wife & I babysit them after school & it's now a routine to read to them. I bought this book to read to my 5 year old grandaughter & grandson. You can't beat any of Shel Silverstein's books for grabbing a kid's attention. They love the pictures & get to pick out the reading for the day. Some of the poems they pick out repeatedly to be read to them. Amazingly, they love this book more than Dr. Seuss.

It arrived right on schedule but when I opened it there was NO CD. This is just the book I had been looking for. I was excited that it was the anniversary edition complete with CD. I wrote to Amazon about the problem then, but my note was not answered. I still have not heard from them and am very discouraged that nothing has been done.

This is a children's classic.appropriate from the age 6-7 years old and up. I read many of the stories to my two boys. My 7 year old now reads some of the poems himself. The writing is brief and witty.the illustrations are basic but appropriate for the quirky writing style.

Shel Silverstein is hands down, one of my favorite poets. I love this addition of "Attic" because it comes with a CD of poems read by Silverstein. Since I was a kid, my favorite Silverstein poem has been "Ladies First." After re-reading his work, and listening to the CD, I have to say that "Clarence" is new a favorite.
